The East River Esplanade is a two-mile-long, city-owned public space along the East River waterfront in NYC, stretching from the Battery Maritime Building to Pier 35 in the Lower East Side. Its redevelopment has been ongoing since 2011 (due for completion in 2017), with the project focused on revitalising the existing waterfront space and improving the quality of life for local residents and visitors.
Apartment One designed the monogram and signage system for the esplanade.
“The cornerstone is the logo that doubles as an abstract letter ‘E’ as well as a visual representation of the esplanade and it’s adjoining piers.”
I like it. Simple, appropriate, easy to remember.
