What is dishNET?
dishNET is the name for the satellite Internet service provided by Dish Network.
Explain how dishNet works?
When you buy dishNET service you get a satellite dish and a satellite modem. Whenever you log on to the Internet, your computer will send a signal to your modem which will send out the signal to your satellite dish. That signal is forwarded to a satellite that bounces the signal to a receiving station.
When a website is located, the signal the signal is then sent from the receiving station, to the satellite, then down to your computer.
Just how fast is dishNET?
Depending, dishNET download speeds are up to 10 Mbps – that’s roughly 100 times faster than dialup service!
